Natural protection against heat stress and sunburn.

 

Vitisol® is a biostimulant of mineral origin with a high proportion of clinoptilolite zeolite that provides effective protection against heat stress and sunburn. It forms a physical protective layer on plants that lowers the temperature on leaves and fruits and reflects harmful UV light, while allowing natural sunlight for photosynthesis to pass through.

Vitisol® supports the fruit development of plants, enables optimal CO2 uptake and increases yields. Thanks to its excellent buffering effect, it binds water to the surface of fruits and leaves and releases it slowly.  


In viticulture, Vitisol® helps to maintain the health of the grape skin, which improves the quality of the wine. In fruit growing, it also protects the fruit skin, which increases the quality and storage life of the fruit. In vegetable and arable farming, Vitisol® protects plants from abiotic stress factors and improves the quality of the harvest.


Thanks to its fine grinding, Vitisol® can be applied by spraying and is suitable for conventional, organic and biodynamic cultivation.

How to use Vitisol® for sunburn and heat stress

Depending on the needs of the plants, the application of Vitisol can be individually adjusted.

Wine-growing & fruit-growing

Reduction of heat stress and temperature at leaf and berry surface 


6kg/ha in 400-1000 l water, a total of 3 applications to the entire leaf mass, starting at BBCH 55, when the leaves are fully developed and the shoots are enlarging. To reduce the temperature at the leaf and berry, the sprayings should be spaced 1-2 weeks apart.


Protection from sun damage


5kg/ha in 100-200 l water, 3 applications in the berry zone, from BBCH-Stadium 77 Beginning of bunch closure

Reduction of heat stress & sunburn

Application rates in viticulture

Protection against sunburn - from BBCH 77, 2-3 applications with 4 kg Lithoplant® per ha, 2-4% in 100-200 l water
