Lithoplant® becomes Vitisol® – a new name for proven protection

Vitisol®
We at Lithos Crop Protect are pleased to announce an exciting change: our successful product Lithoplant® has a new successor product and is now called Vitisol®. This is accompanied not only by a fresh brand identity, but also by our consistent commitment to sustainable, environmentally friendly agriculture. One thing is certain – the proven quality and natural protection that you know from Lithoplant® will remain unchanged.

Why the name change?

The decision to change the name from Lithoplant® to Vitisol® is based on our desire to further develop our product portfolio and to communicate the advantages of our products even more clearly. The new name reflects the specific effectiveness of Vitisol® against heat stress and sunburn in plants.

What is Vitisol®?

Vitisol® is a 100% natural solution derived from the mineral clinoptilolite zeolite. It forms a physical protective layer on the surface of leaves and fruit that reduces temperature and reflects harmful UV light, while optimising natural sunlight for photosynthesis.

The advantages of Vitisol® at a glance:

Protection against heat stress and sunburn:

The cooling effect on leaves and fruit protects your harvest from the negative effects of strong heat and solar radiation.

Improvement of water management:

Vitisol® helps to bind moisture to the surface of plants and release it slowly, which supports plant health during hot and dry periods.

Increase in harvest quality:

Healthy plants mean better fruit – Vitisol® helps to ensure the quality of the harvest, whether it be in viticulture, fruit growing or vegetable growing.

Sustainability and environmental friendliness:

Vitisol® is an environmentally friendly product of natural origin that is suitable for organic and biodynamic cultivation.

Fields of application of Vitisol®

Vitisol® can be used in various areas of agriculture:

In viticulture, fruit growing and vegetable growing: Reduction of temperature on leaves and berries, protection of grapes from sunburn.

Climate change and viticulture: a risk that cannot be ignored

A new report by Eurac Research highlights the extent to which climate change will affect viticulture in Europe. A new interactive map shows the risks in various wine-growing areas, including some Austrian wine-growing areas, some of which are classified as being at very high risk. According to the study, these areas are expected to experience significant climatic changes that could have a significant impact on the grape varieties and wine styles in the region.

It is precisely against this background that Vitisol® is gaining in importance. Thanks to its cooling effect on plant surfaces, Vitisol® can help to alleviate the effects of heat stress and sunburn and protect vineyards in vulnerable regions such as Neusiedlersee. Innovative solutions like Vitisol® will be crucial to making viticulture sustainable in the future, even in times of climate change..
